The name given to the occurance of a loss of lipsync in a motion picture. This usually happens when using Realplayer to play Star Trek episodes downloaded off the Internet, but the term can be used for almost any type of motion picture. The name comes from an imported Scandinavian children's drama series which was aired on the BBC (see BBC) in the early 80s. The dubbing of this programme was of a very low quality, and as a result whenever any of the characters (usually the lead character 'Silas' or his mate 'Goddick') said anything, there was usually a couple of seconds of superfluous mouth movement after the speech had stopped.
